PMY | Technical Engineer (Freelance) - UK

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Technical Engineer (TE) at PMY, you will play a crucial role in supporting the deployment and configuration of equipment, ensuring the successful execution of projects. Technical Engineers are essential problem solvers who possess a deep understanding of project scopes and technical requirements, contributing to seamless deployment processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure on-site personnel understand the core technical design and how different elements integrate.

  • Document all technical aspects for knowledge transfer to incoming resources.

  • Brief remote teams to ensure they are adequately prepared to provide support.

  • Maintain an up-to-date equipment list aligned with project designs.

  • Act as the point of contact for technical discussions with customers when the Tech Lead is not present.

  • Take ownership of the successful technical execution of events.

  • Establish network monitoring at the earliest opportunity.

  • Participate in event reviews to provide technical insights and improvements.

  • Deploy PMY services according to standard operating procedures (SOP).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proficiency in configuring and deploying P100 systems as per PMY standards.

  • Ability to implement designs from Technical Design Services (TDS) and collaborate with Sales and Marketing Group (SMG) for project deployment.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Capable of submitting necessary documentation such as site reports and technical plans.

  • Proactive in seeking support and escalating issues when necessary.

  • Competent in consumer GUI systems (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS).

  • Knowledgeable about managed networking systems including QoS and VLANs.

  • Familiarity with basic networking tools like Ping and traceroute.

  • Adherence to organisational processes and ability to recommend improvements.

  • Ability to understand and respond promptly to customer requests.

  • Maintain effective communication channels with both peers and customers.

SPECIFIC POSITION TERMS

Flexible Schedule: Candidates must be willing to accommodate early starts, late finishes, and occasional weekend work as needed.
