PMY | Cable Engineer (Freelance) - UK

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Cable Engineer (CE) at PMY, you will be responsible for installing crucial infrastructure elements for projects under the guidance of the project manager and technical lead. Working either independently or as part of a team, you will ensure that deployments meet requirements and adhere to PMY standard operating procedures.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Tidy and Logical Deployment: Ensure that deployments are organised and logical, maintaining a neat and tidy installation.

  • Customer Interaction: Introduce yourself to the customer, clarify your role, and ensure they are aware of the installation process.

  • Termination Testing: Test all terminations to ensure they are functioning correctly.

  • Labeling: Label all terminated connections appropriately for easy identification.

  • Documentation: Document all aspects of the deployment thoroughly and accurately.

  • Adherence to SOP: Deploy PMY services in accordance with standard operating procedures.

  • Issue Escalation: Promptly escalate any potential issues to the appropriate management chain for resolution.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to work effectively from general briefs.

  • Proficient in identifying potential deployment issues and addressing them proactively.

  • Working knowledge of P100 (PMY standard) systems.

  • Capable of attending sites as required and representing PMY professionally to customers.

  • Understanding of customer install requests and ability to escalate issues to project and remote management.

  • Demonstrates a high level of deployment quality and ensures installed services operate as per design.

  • Identifies and respects authority on site, acting under their direction.


SPECIFIC POSITION TERMS

Flexible Schedule: Candidates must be willing to accommodate early starts, late finishes, and occasional weekend work as needed.
